Connect Convert Forms with AWeber
Convert Forms offers seamless integration with AWeber email marketing service. Connecting Convert Forms to your AWeber email list is very easy. Follow our step by step guide on how to connect Convert Forms with AWeber.
- Addon Installation
- Campaign Setup
- Email & Name Fields
- AWeber Custom Fields
- AWeber Tags
- Assign form to Campaign
- AWeber Single Opt-in
1. Addon Installation
- Navigate to Components > Convert Forms > Addons
- Click the Cog button for the AWeber Addon. A popup will appear where you can enable the addon.
- Click on the Status and select Enabled.
- Now you can click on Save & Close button to save the enabled addon.
2. Campaign Setup
To setup a Campaign with AWeber, follow the steps below.
- Navigate to Components > Convert Forms > Campaigns
- Create a new Campaign by clicking New
- Type a name for your Campaign. This name can not be seen by anyone else but you.
- For the Sync Leads > Choose Service selectbox choose AWeber. If you can not find the AWeber option then you do not have the AWeber Addon installed and activated. In that case, please go back to the top of the article and see how to install the mandatory addon.
- Save the Campaign for the special AWeber fields to show up.
AWeber Authorization Code
To connect Convert Forms with AWeber we need an Authorization Code. To get it, click on the Get the Auth Code link next to the field in the campaign settings. Once you have clicked it, a new window will open with the authorization code.
Copy it as seen in the screenshot above and paste it back in the campaign settings screen.
AWeber Unique List ID
The Unique List ID is needed in order for Convert Forms to know which AWeber list to populate. To get your Unique List ID, log into your AWeber account and navigate to List Options > List Settings.
Copy the Unique List ID as seen in the screenshot above and paste it back in the campaign settings screen.
Finally, click Save & Close
3. Email & Name Fields
For a Convert Form to successfully store an email address to your AWeber account it needs to have an email field. This field is already set up at the time of creating the form and you don't have to change its input value as it is already configured for you.
Name
If you want to store the contact's fullname you should create a field named name. See the screenshot below to understand where to set it up.
4. AWeber Custom Fields
AWeber offers custom fields to collect more types of data for each of your contacts. We can also use these custom fields in a Convert Form for a more efficient data gathering and by extension, a more efficient campaign. Let's see how.
First you need to navigate to your AWeber Dashboard, choose "List Options" in the menu and go to "Custom Fields" to create your custom field. Take a look at the screenshot below for the Custom Fields we have created as an example.
With the custom fields you have configured on your AWeber Account, you can now proceed and use the same ones in your Convert Form. For example, we used our Address and Age custom fields in our Convert Form in the screenshow below.
5. AWeber Tags
AWeber offers you the ability to tag your contacts. To do that, go to your Convert Form, create a hidden field named tags and set the tags in a comma separated list as its value. See the screenshow below to understand where to set it up.
6. Assign form to Campaign
Of course don't forget to assign the form to our newly created Campaign! See the screenshot below to understand where to assign it.
7. AWeber Single Opt-in
AWeber explicitly mentions in their API Documentation that any subscriber creation through their API requires confirmation from the subscriber's point of view. In other words, this means that AWeber does not support Single Opt-in through their API.
However, if you Contact AWeber directly and ask that you would like them to enable single opt-in for your lists for use through their API then there is a chance that they will enable it after they review your account.
